If you’re away for just short periods of time, you can file a ‘mail hold’ request on usps.com and retrieve your held mail from the post office on your return. Some folks have a neighbor or nearby relative check their home mailbox for mail &/or check their porch for packages.
If you need to receive mail at your destination, a number of mail forwarding options are available:
USPS mail forwarding and premium mail forwarding service. Visit usps.com for details.
File a temporary change of address at usps.com
A PO box service with a UPS store.
Mail forwarding service with the Escapees Club.
A private mail handling company.
Receiving your mail at your destination
Many private RV parks will receive mail and packages for you.
Some RVers have their mail & packages sent to ‘General Delivery’ at a post office near their destination. However, not all post offices receive General Delivery, so you’ll need to check.
